One of current ”Bedhaya Ketawang” dancers, the sacret dance in Keraton Surakarta Palace and graduated from the Indonesian Institute for the Arts (ISI) Surakarta in 2007. Her contemporary dance performance appreared when she joined Solo Dance Studio such us ”Opera Ronggeng”, ”Awakening”, and ”El”.

She dances for Opera Jawa Film Musical directed by Garin Nugroho and most recently she dance for the ”Iron Bed” theatre performance directed by Garin Nugroho music by Rahayu Supanggah in Theatre Spectacle Zurich, Switzerland and the Indonesian Dance Festival October 2008. She is now searching the intergration of new combine on Javanese Court dances with contemporary dance to find her capability on body knowleage of dance. Surni joined Solo Dance Studi in 2003.
