A contemporary interpretation of traditional dance from Jailolo island West Halmahera in the  Moluccas, in the eastern part of Indonesia. 

"Inspired by Legu Salai dance from the village of Sahu in Jailolo. It is an expression of hope that the destruction of the coral reefs in the ocean of Teluk Jailolo will stop, that the fish will return once again to the coral, and that the silence in the ocean and the soul of water be restored".

Adalah sebuah eksplorasi akan non-eksistensi ke-tubuh-an dalam susunan korerografi. Non-Eksistensi ketubuhan yang terangkum dalam ragam plot dan cuatan-cuatan adegan. Dengan sengaja, karya ini tidak mempertimbangkan alur garapan, hanya menyuguhkan subjektifitas tubuh yang ter-ekpose untuk menjadi sumber eksplorasi antara ruang dan cahaya. Lebih menitik beratkan pada kaidah sensor gerak terhadap bidikan cahaya, ekspresi kepenarian serta komposisi ruang. Tidak semata-mata hanya “tubuh” yang menjadi objek tematik dan pemaknaannya.

Bagi sekumpulan manusia, idealisme menjadi  pengukuhan sebuah kebenaran. Keberagaman opini dan kebebasan akan pilihan menjadi musuh  dan dilemma bagi eksistensi egoisitasnya. Hak  manusia lain pun terlupakan, kewajiban disingkirkan, kebebasanpun akhirnya ter-redam. Bahkan ketika linangan dan lembutnya keindahan kembang perdamaian, yang semestinya menjadi syarat hakiki arti kemanusiaan pun terkesampingkan. Kemanusiawian tiada berarti lagi. Emosi ini merasuk kedalam ruang privasi manusia lain. Meluluh lantahkan arti saling menghargai dan menghormati.
“Tawur” adalah sebuah bukti akan ironinya puncak pesakitannya manusia. Tatkala emosinya berubah menjadi kecerdasan  yang untuk menguasai, kumandang doanya menjadi kilau ancaman. Nafsu amarahnya menjadi kekuatan seruan untuk menyerang.

Combine with a musical lyrical story compose by Max Biagi which create a full length of creation of dance and musical choreography. A dance piece that based on the story of Destrarata in Mahabaratha epic. The 35 minutes dance is presenting the interpretation of manpower on the most fragile sense of empowering man/king who became the advisor for all Pandawa and Kurawa’s family.

This dance challenges the possibility of pure technical movement, speed and flow on solo’s, partnering and quartet. This dance is the first appearing of Solo Dance Studio after first generation of Solo Dance Studio in 1996.

A dance piece that design to remember our childhood. Using “jumping” as a metaphor of the technical and experimental exploration. These five-dance repertoires create the joy of jumping. Without any signifier of deep ritualistic, artistically create the signify of sense of humanity in community and daily life, to remember the past that the beauty of joy will never lies.

This dance represents the challenge of cleansing spirit. Many of unspoken messages from the ancient advice have begun to recall for daily life to decries lies, fools and evil. When we then believe of the old message to re-control our believe, then again clean and pure will define on our behavior.

When Rahwana shown his love to Shinta, by scarifying his family, palace and thousand of his army. Nevertheless his own life will be determined by faith of evil; will destroy until the last of his breath.

“Dhaup” is when the humanity side of Rahwana interrelated on real life of man loving woman. Rahwana love Shinta. Everything will be apposite. Thus, with all of bad memory, bad path in the past will be left behind. New life is beginning, when man meets the true love of woman, and then they decided to be together in a new future.
